King of the Bridge is a unique chess variant puzzle game created by solo developer Finn Schuuring and released on March 8th, 2024. The game introduces players to a bridge troll who challenges them to a game of chess, but not just any ordinary game. This troll plays his own homebrewed version called the 11th edition of Advanced Troll Chess. The gameplay involves deciphering and twisting the rules as the troll attempts to break them, offering a devious twist on traditional chess. In this game, players must adapt to custom rules, which are only revealed after they’re used or broken. The troll also cheats, and players must catch him in the act and point out the specific rule he broke, essentially “cheating to cheat” themselves.
